Description: Funding will be used to construct a multi-purpose building that will act as a homeless shelter and hub for social services within the community. The City also plans to initiate a street outreach campaign that will encourage the homeless community to make use of the new facility.

Description: Funding will support the construction of an intermodal ferry terminal that will support the new Carteret Ferry Service to New York City. The new Ferry Service will provide residents of New Jersey with new affordable public transportation options.

Description: This project will replace the athletic lighting structures in Bruno Melini Park, the Borough’s most widely used park and center of sports infrastructure. The current lighting poles have shifted over time, becoming less firm in the ground, and will soon be inoperable.

Description: Funding will enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, & multimodal transportation. This initiative includes ADA-compliant sidewalk reconstruction, pedestrian lighting, tree planting & bicycle infrastructure to reduce accidents, promote walkability, and support local businesses.

Project Name: Probasco Road Freight Bypass Project

Project Location: East Windsor, NJ

Amount Requested: $2,500,000

Intended Recipient: Township of East Windsor

Description: Funding will be used to construct a new exit ramp connecting truck traffic from the NJ Turnpike to State Route 133 and finally to Wyckoff Mills Road. The current road infrastructure increases truck traffic through residential communities, increasing traffic, safety, and infrastructure concerns.

Project Name: Improvements to the Signalized Intersection of US Route 1 & Ridge Road- South Brunswick, NJ

Project Location: South Brunswick, NJ

Amount Requested: $3,000,000

Intended Recipient: Township of South Brunswick

Description: Funding will be used for vehicular safety improvements at the intersection of an Urban Principal Arterial Roadway with an Urban Minor Arterial Roadway that will eliminate a bottleneck and allow truck traffic to safely navigate through the area while avoiding impacts on residential neighborhoods.

Description: Funding will be used to modernize outdated traffic signals with adaptive signal control technology, pedestrian countdown timers, and smart sensors to improve safety, optimize traffic flow, and reduce congestion.

Description: Funding will be used to make necessary safety surface transportation improvements to School House Lane to make school bus travel safer for students.

Project Name: Egg Harbor Road/Railroad Avenue Safety Improvements

Project Location: Hammonton, NJ

Amount Requested: $3,335,000

Intended Recipient: Town of Hammonton

Description: Funding will be used to institute roadway and intersection improvements, like defining travel lanes to improve vehicular circulation; reduce lane and cartway widths to decrease crossing distances for pedestrian; replace sidewalks in poor condition; and improve lighting in the railroad crossing area.
