WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Senator Andy Kim released the following statement on the Biden Administration’s Interim Final Rule on Artificial Intelligence Diffusion, released earlier this week. A fact sheet on this rule can be found by clicking here.

“Shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence to align with American values and priorities is critical to winning the rest of the 21st Century, and I commend the latest rule by the Biden Administration that strike the right balance between advancing our national security and promoting American innovation,” said Senator Kim. “America has led the way in developing these technologies, and we must continue to set the pace in how they’re proliferated and governed globally. As the Trump Administration prepares to take office, I look forward to working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to help create a legislative framework to codify and strengthen protections to make New Jersey and the entire country a leader in next-generation technologies in the decades to come.”

Senator Kim is a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP); the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and the Special Committee on Aging. Before being elected to the U.S. Senate, Kim represented New Jersey’s Third Congressional District in the U.S. House and was a career public servant working in national security and diplomacy at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon.
