Senator Andy Kim Votes “NO” on Hyper-Partisan CR

March 14, 2025

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ)released the following statement after voting “NO” on the final passage of House Republicans’ Continuing Resolution:

“This hyper-partisan funding bill is a setback for our country and a win for the millionaires and billionaires the Trump administration is working for. We knew that no matter which way this vote went, families were going to be hurt. As Republicans gear up to gut Medicaid and take money from our schools, this can and will not be the last time this Congress has the chance to stand up against this lawlessness – and we must.

“As President Trump, Elon Musk, and Speaker Johnson celebrate dismantling so much of what truly makes our country great, I’m focused on how we heal our country and deliver for Americans’ needs. I hope this outrageous moment shows that it will take all of us, in the halls of Congress and people out in communities across our country, to show that they cannot get away with this. To the thousands of New Jerseyans and people across the country who called my office and any office this week, know that I heard you and as we keep standing up to these power grabs I will always be listening.”
